Scholarships available for UW Infant, Early Childhood and Family Mental Health Certificate Program |

*NEW* Project LAUNCH scholarships Project LAUNCH is supporting two (2), $4,000 scholarships for mental health practitioners in the Milwaukee area who service target zip codes (53204, 53205, 53206, 53208, 53210, 53212, 53218, 53233) and Medicaid eligible families. The scholarship recipients will be asked to address how they will commit to providing infant/early childhood mental health services in those target areas.
Project LAUNCH (Linking Actions for Unmet Needs in Children's Health), a pilot project awarded to Wisconsin from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The Project LAUNCH award began on 10/1/2009 and will continue for the next five years.
Project LAUNCH in Wisconsin is being implemented by the Department of Health Services, Division of Public Health and their local partner community represented by the City of Milwaukee Health Department. The focus of the project is to provide a variety of primary prevention services to support child wellness in all areas of the life of a young child.
The Wisconsin Birth to 3 Program will award five (5) partial scholarships ($3,000) to individuals who are currently working in a Wisconsin Birth to 3 Program, or to mental health professionals who are willing to provide clinical consultation in a Birth to 3 setting. These scholarships are possible as a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
Celebrate Children Scholarships For child care directors serving children birth to age five and applying to the Foundations Certificate program, six (6) $5,000 scholarships are available through funding from the Celebrate Children Foundation. Awardees will be selected by location to ensure geographic distribution throughout the state.
To apply for a scholarship, applicants are to indicate their interest in being considered for one of these three types of scholarships by completing the Scholarship Application Section of the Certificate Program Application. THE APPLICATION DEADLINE IS MARCH 15, 2010.
